About Us

We are Summit, IL’s primary resource to connect our local entrepreneurs together and encourage the growth of our diverse business district. As a member-driven organization, we are constantly striving to elevate our community by working together to promote Summit as an attractive location for businesses that wish to establish their legacy here.

Our vision is to actively guide new businesses while they’re getting off the ground so that they can effectively integrate themselves into our business district and the greater Summit community. We also aim to support current businesses by keeping them regularly informed of local opportunities and economic developments.

To achieve this vision, we host events to promote business and community engagement, work with local agencies and organizations, and provide marketing and educational resources to our growing group of members.

As a voluntary organization, we are self-managed and governed by our own board of directors. We host monthly meetings to provide local updates, workshops, guest speakers, and plan events.

  • We provide all of our members with resources such as:

    • Assistance with business licensing, permits, educational workshops

    • Business-to-business networking, direct connections with community members and leaders

    • Advertising & marketing through social media, grand openings, multiple annual community events, and lots more

    • Advocacy with local government for the best interests and growth of your business

    • Assistance with TIF grants and applications

  • The Chamber works closely with our members and local government to give back to our community, as it is our mission to make Summit a great place to live in and do business with. We host and sponsor lots of events throughout the year:

    • Donating school supplies and Christmas gifts to local students

    • Fundraising opportunities for local businesses

    • Annual networking parties for chamber members and families

    • Organized sponsorships for local businesses and community events

    • Hosted workshops to provide members with financial/legal/entrepreneurial insights and resources
